« On the Feast of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated at the Dormition Cathedral »

On April 7, 2024, on the 3rd Sunday of Great Lent, Veneration of the Cross, the feast of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos, the day of the repose of St.Tikhon, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia (1925), the Divine Liturgy was celebrated at the Dormition Cathedral in London.

The divine service was celebrated by the Secretary of the Sourozh diocese, Archpriest Dimitry Nedostupenko, assisted by Archpriest Maxim Nikolsky, Dean of the diocesan district of South-East England, Archpriest Vitaly Polishchuk, clergy of the UOC temporarily staying on the territory of the Sourozh diocese, Protodeacon Vadim Santsevitch and Deacon Ioan Sîlnic.

During the Divine Liturgy, His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh prayed in the church and received communion of the Holy Mysteries of Christ.

Liturgical chants were performed by the choir of the Dormition Cathedral under the direction of Dmitry Tugarinov.

At the end of the Liturgy, the feast of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos was glorified and the Precious and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord was venerated.

Archpriest Dimitry Nedostupenko addressed the parishioners with a sermon on the theme of the feast, after which, on behalf of His Grace Bishop Matthew, the clergy and parishioners of the cathedral, he warmly congratulated Archpriest Maxim Nikolsky and Deacon Ioan Sîlnic on the days of their ordination and presented them with holy prosphoras and flowers.
