On Saturday, 14 May, Archbishop Elisey of Sourozh celebrated a Divine Liturgy in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

In the course of three years the Orthodox community of this major city of Northen England has developed into a thriving parish. During the service Vladyka signed the Antimins for the liturgical services which would be regularly celebrated in the parish.

Archbishop Elisey appointed Archpriest Gennady Andreev as Rector of the parish and Dean of the Deanery of Northern and Middle England.
